Dorset Branch - Annual General Meeting

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING JANUARY 2010 OF THE RSA DORSET BRANCH

The Annual General meeting was held on Sunday 24th January 2010 at the Ashley Wood golf club in Blandford and was followed by an excellent Lunch.

The Chairman Geoff Grover opened the meeting by welcoming all members old and new. A vote was then held for the post of Chairman and as their was no other nominations Geoff was re-elected back into the post for another year. He then requested Mr John Drake (Treasurer) to read out the minutes of the meeting held in 2009 after which we then held our election of officials. John Drake Treasurer remained unchanged as their were no other nominations for this positions. Social members position had been empty during the past year with Bob Huxtable standing in as Walt and Sandie Disney had moved to pastures new in Germany. Bob had done an excellent job standing in and agreed to take the position on a permenant basis. In addition the secretary's job had been vacant since Dave Walker BEM stood down earlier in the year and this position has been filled by Mrs Caroline Addison. Thanks Caroline, I'm sure you will do a good job. Other branch officers were voted upon. Vice chairman John Rees stands for another year. Further good news is that after many years the Standard bearers position has been filled by Steve Barron and was thanked by the chairman. The treasurer Mr J Drake then presented the audited accounts to the members for the previous year and once again it showed a healthy balance.
