Exmouth Branch - Royal Signals Association
The Branch: Exmouth Branch Royal Signals Association was formed initially in April 2000, following a discussion between two life members who felt it was appropriate to establish a group in the Exmouth Area, as Torbay was the nearest Branch. They were Mr John Goodman and Mr Tom May. These members met whilst parading at the 100th birthday of Mr Ron Randall (RIP), who was a life member. A meeting was arranged via a letter in the local newspaper, which invited all serving or ex-Royal Signallers to attend an inaugural meeting. This was held in RAFA Club Exmouth. The first meeting to formally record attendance was held 4 th April 2000. At that time six life members attended. Through hard work and many social functions the Exmouth Branch has become established and now has a life membership that is growing all the time. Associate members are actively encouraged to join the Branch; these are wives, partners or ex-service personnel who do not have a local Branch. These associate members play a full and active part in the Branch affairs. The Exmouth Branch goes from strength to strength, and has, through lots of fund raising purchased outright our Branch Standard. Publicity is high on our agenda and throughout the local area posters are displayed inviting new members to join us. Meetings are held at the Royal Air Force Association Club, Imperial Road, Exmouth on the THIRD Tuesday of each month. The Branch is very grateful for all the support given, which has enabled the growth and development of the Branch to the status it now currently holds within the local community and the Royal Signals Association. Meetings are held on the THIRD Tuesday of each month. Starting at 19.30 for 20.00 hours Dress: Smart casual. For more details: Telephone Mr John Goodman, Tel. 01392 877207.
