Bill Barron a 77 year old member of Rotherham Branch completed a 15,000ft skydive in aid of The Alzheimers Society.Bill undertook the skydive on the 19th May at Hibleston Skydiving School.Signs are that the event will raise upwards of £1,300. Well done Bill.
On the 23rd of June 2010 The Yorkshire Regiment (3rd Battalion-Duke of Wellingtons) parading in Rotherhams "All Saints Square", and being inspected by the Mayor of Rotherham (Councillor Rose McNeely) and the Colonel of the Regiment..Later the Regiment exercised their right to march through te town with bayonets fixed.Once again their was a huge turnout by the public of Rotherham, which was much appreciated by the marching troops.
On Armed Forces day (21st June),a Flag raising ceremony was held at the McKay VC Barracks in Rotherham (the Town Hall is being refurbished).
The event was hosted by 146 Field Company REME,headed by Captain Sam Rodgers(REME),and was attended by the Mayor of Rotherham, Councillor Rose McNeely.
