Station Radio C41/R222 - Radio Relay
The C41 transmitter is Wide band Frequency Modulation (FM) multichannel modulation duplex with Low Power/ High Power (LP/HP) facilities. Bandwidth 20 to 70 kHz.
Vehicle-based medium radio relay set for brigade, division or corps communications, using frequencies from 50 to 100 MHz controlled by crystal or frequency synthesiser.
Power is provided by 240V AC source and consumed at 900W.
Radio Frequency output of 4 to 10 Watt LP or 18 to 35W HP.
Two antennas YAGI No 2 give nominal link range of 20 to 30 miles. Wide band unloaded range of 7 miles. Narrow band loaded range of 12 miles.
Four units, transmitter, receiver and two rectifiers are each 22 x 15 x 16 in and weigh 73, 78, 84 and 85 lb.

Receiver R222
The R222 is a wide band VHF FM receiver for use with the C41, using frequencies from 50 to 100 MHz with crystal control.
Power is provided by a 240V AC source via SUR 23, used at 310 W.
The unit is 22 x 15 x 16 in and weighs 78 lb. SUR 23 is 22 x 15 x 16 in and weighs 84 lb. Mark 1 modified for 140 kilobits/sec.
THE CST 1+4 Number 3 WAS OFTEN USED AS THE CHANNELLING EQUIPMENT FOR THE C41/R222 RADIO RELAY STATION
