Royal Signals Museum - VolunteersCAN YOU HELP ? In addition to normal opening hours the Museum is open at weekends and on Bank holidays from mid-February to the end of October. Throughout this period the Museum is staffed solely by our excellent volunteers who undertake staff training before their duties. The volunteers, who live mainly in the Blandford, Bournemouth and Salisbury areas, work in teams of two. New volunteers are always welcome. The duties are ideal for husband and wife teams and induction and continuation training is given. Volunteers are given free options of when they wish to work in the Museum. Other Volunteers work in the Museum during normal working hours. They work hours and times to suit their own requirements and they carry out a wide range of interesting and valuable tasks. These include archival work, research and cataloguing artefacts, documents or photographs. The Volunteers are members of the British Association of Friends of Museums (BAFM) and subscribe fully to that Association's aspirations that volunteers should receive training to provide a professional level of service to museum visitors. The Volunteers hold an Annual General Meeting and Dinner subsidised by the Museum.
